Khartoum, with more than 3 million inhabitants, has a wealth of natural beauty and immensely varied scenery. It is benetraited by the two branches of the river Nile, the blue and the white, that meet in Khartoum and make the river Nile which continues to run through Sudan and Egypt to end in the mediterranian sea
In addition to the river nile, the historical 'Alkhalifa Abdallahi Altaishi home and museum', in Omderman city is a major tourist attraction spot. There are many other tourism spots that reflect the Sudanese culture and heritage, and many modern five star hotels
The Khartoum international airport is about 7 kilometer from the center of Khartoum city. It's approximately 15 minutes by bus, taxi , or chauffeur-driven rented car services.
Upon arrival at the airport , it is strongly recommended that you only use taxi companies that are connected to leading hotels. Please contact your hotel for further advice.
To visit Sudan, you need a valid passport and visa that can be easily obtained from the Sudanese embassy in your country.
As for hotel reservations including the process of your papers at the airport, the officail sponsor of the exhibition would handle them for free.
The climate in Sudan is: hot in summer and cold in winter with an average temperature of 29oC in April, that is during the midafro health care exhibition activities.
The official language in Sudan is Arabic but most local people speak English, especially those active in the tourism sector

The Sudanese currency is the pound, there are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 SDG bills, in addition to 10, 20, and 50 cent coins.
The U.S dollar ( US$) is the most common foreign currency. U.S dollars and Euros can be exchanged at banks and currency exchange offices where you must present your passport. But it's more convenient to pay by cash with SDG or Sudanese bank sales point.
